Dr. Sreekumar - IVF Specialist
Dr. S.K. Sreekumar is a senior consultant (gynaecology) and specialist in infertility treatment.

He completed his Diploma in Obs. Gynaec and Masters Degree from Mysore University in 1989 and 1990 respectively. Thereafter to pursue his interest in overcoming infertility, he received extensive training in all aspects of Human Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) from India and abroad. He also practiced in UK for 3 years before coming back to India in 1995 to set up an infertility centre in Kerala, INDIA. It was the first centre in India to produce a baby using Recombinant FSH. The centre also has the distinction of producing the first ICSI babies (twins) of Kerala.
Spreading ART
Since ART services in India are available in select cities, people have to travel great distances and bear huge expenses to avail the treatments. Realising the dearth in ART centres, Dr. Sreekumar decided to take this technology and expertise to different corners of India through satellite centres. Here, he treated patients in batches, once every month. He would visit the centre with his team and perform IVF or ICSI for patients, over a short span of 3 days. This marked a turning point in his career as he began setting up IVF centres to treat IVF patients in a camp-like manner.
Training in ART
Dr. Sreekumar is one of the few gynaecologists in India who has an in-depth knowledge of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) procedures apart from being a clinician.
Till date, DR. Sreekumar has competently treated above 5000 couples using the IVF / ICSI method (Test-Tube Baby Treatment) alone, and the success rate achieved has been at par with or even better than international standards.
With over 17 years of experience in this field, he yet again forays into a new venture of hope - Cherish, Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility.
